Harmony BodyWork & Float is taking two of the most efficient processes of healing–massage and float–and combining them into one spa for the ultimate solution for therapy and relaxation.
Floating is about everything that you won’t be doing. You won’t be fighting gravity. The 1,450 pounds of medicinal grade Epsom salt in the water takes care of that while you lie on your back. The water is kept at 93.5 degrees. This is skin-receptor neutral, which means you lose track of where your body ends and the water begins. Your ears stay just below the water, and the tank is insulated against sound. Noise from the outside doesn’t reach you. After you shut the door and turn off the light, you float in total darkness.
During your Float the outside world is gone, and amazing things happen. It turns out that when you’re not fighting gravity or constantly taking in information your body has a lot of extra resources at its disposal. Your mind is free to mull things over without distraction, your brain pumps out dopamine and endorphins, and your body gets to rest, de-stress, and heal.
It’s likely to be the most relaxing thing you’ve ever experienced.

Do I need to bring anything?
Nope, just yourself. Towels, robes, earplugs, a blow dryer and everything else you need is provided.
Although it might be a good idea to bring a hair brush or make up remover.
How should I dress?
We suggest coming in comfy or loose clothing. Getting dressed after all the humidity can be sticky. You’ll float naked, no swimsuit necessary.
What if I’m claustrophobic?
You’re always in control of your environment. There is no lock on the Float room so you can open the door at any point during your session. The Float room is about the size of a king mattress and has over 8 ft tall ceilings.
Can I Float while I am on my period?
Yes! But please wear a tampon. Most pool rules apply to the Float room.
Can I drown if I fall asleep?
Not at all. Some people actually fall asleep each time they float. The water inside the float rooms is only 10 inches deep. USP Grade Epsom salt creates a specific gravity environment, and as a result, your body becomes buoyant. You will stay floating. The worst that can happen is getting some salt water in your eyes.
How are the tanks kept clean?
Saltwater using bromine is effective in killing some pathogens. However State and Federal law requires a secondary disinfection system. The water in the float rooms is filtered between each Float. During the filtration process the entire water supply is disinfected and sanitized 5 times using two ANSI/NSF 50 Certified UV Sanitation lights.
How old do you have to be to Float?
According to Illinois State Law, you have to be 18 or older to float, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
